Dreamweaver CS3 is the most powerful Web design tool available today. In this class, students will gain the HTML and Dreamweaver skills necessary to build attractive, dynamic Web pages. In addition to laying out your pages visually, Dreamweaver allows the creation of interactive effects such as animations and mouseovers, and writes powerful JavaScript code.

Dreamweaver is more than a powerful, intuitive HTML editor: it has features that will allow you to work on group projects, manage and customize your site, and even customize the tool itself for your specific purposes. If you are ready to create linked style sheets, templates, custom objects, site maps, and server-side includes, and are looking for more ways to make your pages dynamic while saving valuable development time, this is the class for you.

By the end of the class students will be able to:

  • Format text in multiple columns and with the application of a variety of effects
  • Select and place images
  • Add hyperlinks and image maps
  • Build HTML tables for displaying data and for enabling complex text and graphics layouts
  • Develop and validate forms
  • Add colors and backgrounds
  • Use layers which Dreamweaver can then publish these pages as CSS layers, permitting overlapping, dynamic positioning, and more
  • Take advantage of Dynamic HTML effects
  • Manage sites using Dreamweaver's Site Manager tool
  • Use linked styles to include Cascading Style Sheet (CSS)
  • Design and manage templates to maintain a consistent look and feel
  • Know how to create objects to add buttons or interactive behavior
  • Be familiar with Behaviors to create behind-the-scenes JavaScript
  • Develop server-side includes to create a section of code and easily apply it automatically to any page
