A Hands-On Approach to Program Management is designed to help the participant gain practical expertise through relevant and applicable case study exercises.  In this three-day course participants will take core project management knowledge and apply it to a program setting.   They will learn to manage key program stakeholder relationships, and manage potential risk events across an entire program.  Course case study exercises will allow students to apply lessons learned throughout the course. 

By the end of this class, students will have learned how:

  • To take core project management knowledge and apply it to a program setting
  • To initiate a large-scale program
  • To identify, analyze, and manage key program stakeholder relationships
  • To define scope and schedules for components of a program
  • To outline roles and responsibilities of the program team
  • To develop a comprehensive program budget plan
  • To manage potential risk events and issues across a program
  • To effectively monitor, control, and report progress across the program
  • To assist in an effective transition of program components
