WestLake Internet Training Now Provides Continuing Education Units!

WestLake Internet Training is now a certified provider of continuing education by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). IACET is a non-profit association dedicated to quality continuing education and training programs. IACET certifies those organizations meeting strict continuing education guidelines created in 1968.

What is a Continuing Education Unit (CEU)?
The Continuing Education Unit is a quantitative measure of successfully completed continuing education and has evolved into a hallmark of quality training and education. One (1) CEU is equal to ten (10) contact hours of continuing education.

How CEUs are Computed
The number of CEUs awarded to a student upon completion of a course is determined by the number of contact hours spent in a formal learning environment, where one (1) contact hour is equivalent to 60 minutes of instruction. For example, 1.5 CEUs are assigned for a learning experience with a total of 15 contact hours. Fractional portions are disregarded.

ow Programs Qualify for CEUs
In order to qualify as an Authorized Provider, the organization must meet strict training standards as prescribed by IACET. The qualification requirements fall under the following categories:

  • The organization must be chartered, incorporated, a proprietorship, or a recognized government unit.
  • Must have a well-defined organization structure.
  • Must provide a learning experience with clearly defined goals, objectives, and measurability.
  • Training must be administered by a specific unit within the organization.
