WestLake announced today the birth of it's new website, www.westlaketraining.com. The new site, which officially launched on Monday, September 12, 2005, is a significant departure from WestLake's earlier site and features a new theme-line: "Astonishing Skills, Practical Knowledge". Along with the new website, WestLake is also distributing their new "annual" course catalog and updated marketing collateral materials.
The new marketing approach is meant to position the "New WestLake" as a Business-to-Business web development company with training and custom courseware services designed to offer the most focused and practical training available. According to company president Mark Rogers, "There's been a significant shift in marketing focus for us over the past few years away from the traditional Open Enrollment public model to more of a enterprise-level partnership with corporate clients offering highly customized training and development services."
WestLake's marketing materials reinforce this new focus with a website and catalog that emphasizes four distinct business units: 1. Customized Training; 2. Mentoring and Development; 3. Testing, Evaluation and Certification; and 4. WestLake Publishing. These four units are based out of WestLake's corporate headquarters in Washington, DC but provide products and services to customers worldwide, including AOL, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Freddie Mac, and The Defense Intelligence Agency.
Lynn Gant, Sr. Director of Business Operations explains, "We wanted to create a look and feel that really stands out in the training industry. We teach such amazing web development skills, why not let everyone know about it."
WestLake's new website, catalog and marketing materials were designed and produced by SageTopia, a marketing communications firm in Herndon, VA.
